Description

�� I was browsing the art for sale at Comic Art Live and was struck by this actor/character head turn piece. Artist Drew Johnson describes it in this 2009 devianArt post as intended for a GI Joe Movie Style Guide. Seller Chris Abel learned from Drew the subject was actor Rachel Nichols who played Scarlett in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009). I contacted Chris on Saturday and completed payment. The piece was in a Texas post office on Monday and in my hands in California on Wednesday. The notes on the top of the page indicate this is page 3 and the inker was Ray Snider. I have no idea whether this actually was printed or simply an internal document, but I love the drawings. Drew has The Art of Drew Edward Johnson big cartel shop as well as the dA page linked above. He has more GI Joe head turns to display.

I've been watching this movie for the first time on Netflix. This has a great likeness to the actor. Nice pick up!

Great piece! I picked up Drew's Baroness version of the head turns years back. Seems you tracked down details I never knew!
