Martin Egeland and Brad Vankata

First Aquaman harpoon hand. I think it was, anyway. If I recall, in issue 2, piranha noshed on Arthur at the end of it. Metagene piranha? Maybe. All we saw was what remained of his gnarled left forearm. The next issue was this one, issue #0 where he attached a real harpoon as his artificial hand. There was Captain Hook, Edward Scissorhands, Kramer's wish of shoehorn hands, why not a harpoon hand? Sure, this setup was a bit strange, but, the storylines were really good and the artwork was phenomenal. I enjoyed this volume by Peter David with main art duties by Martin Egeland to start.

Martin's artwork killed on the title. I've been fortunate to acquire a few of his covers and pages. This one from eBay. I would have rather his signature have been in black pen, closer to the bottom margin, still, not bad.

Wow! Great to see the OA here on CAF. One of those cover images that's seared into your brain, whether a fan/follower of the character/book or not. Love the tidal wave, and Aquaman's never looked so bada$$. I mean, he did just get his hand gnawed off. Not a happy camper - mean mug makes sense. Seriously, though, love it. Big congrats!
