DescriptionStunning original Scrooge McDuck page, by the one and only Carl Barks, for one of his last long adventure stories « House of Haunts », which was first published in Uncle Scrooge #63 (1966). This story always had a special place in my heart, as it was the first long adventure Barks story, that I read as a 4-year old (as luck will have it, one of the few stories where original art survived). This one is gorgeous…it opens with several beautiful shots of Scrooge breaking out of his « prison », and the Beagle Boys following him while he makes his way to the castle. Those night panels with the fluorescent Scrooge are really magnificent…a big Thank You to the former owner who made me it’s new caretaker, I really appreciate it… 😊🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽Between 1942 and 1966/67 Carl Barks wrote and drew over 6700 comic book pages, most of which have sadly been destroyed. Only a mere 200 pages have survived the times... Social/Sharing |

Beautiful original! Seeing some of Barks' art at the height of his powers in a comic page is delightful on many levels. The storytelling, the design of characters, and the brushwork all come together on this page.
