DescriptionHarry Kane is a name I learned to recognize after seeing several captivating paintings in my search for illustration art over the years.Love his colors and appealing faces. Not sure what is happening in this particular image, but found the girl charming and decided to pick it up. This piece was published in the 1950s in Collier's Magazine, painted in Gouache. So many lights I'd sit by my window
Kane is that someone to paint me his bulbs
Those Harry dreams I kept horse and lady
Artwork in the dark but now Duke’s come along
And you light up my life
You give me hope illustration
Duke lights up my days and fill my lines with song
Ridin' to please, a gift of Colliers
Could it be fantasy electrical bulbs?
Finally a chance to say, "Hey, I love Groo"
Never with Kane in the dark alone

Good, silly fun. Not a lot of Kane's work ever made it out into the secondary market, either.

She definitely is charming and I dig the offbeat nature of the image. And those painted colors...sublime stuff. Congrats, man!

Very charming! It has a really nice sense of joy and playfulness to it.
