DescriptionMarvel 1975Comics historian Les Daniels noted that "In a brief stint with Marvel, which included work on two characters (Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock) that had previously never quite made their mark, Starlin managed to build a considerable cult following." Warlock #10 was divided in three chapters, those two pages are the complete chapter II "Who is Thanos?" I was looking for a Starlin page since a long time but I never thought to get a piece like this, do I need to say how much I'm happy now? :-) 10½"x16¼" (each page) Social/Sharing |

Wow, it's hard to imagine a nicer pair...of Jim Starlin pages. It looks like Jim and Steve worked extra-hard on these pages, and it's great that they are a nice self-contained recap. I am jealous! Congrats!

Difficult to imagine anything more representative of the fantastic cosmic saga that Starlin wove in the mid '70s. This page has everything: amazing layout, great characters, a super large image of Cap Marvel, thick, dark inks, historical significance. Museum quality!

A lot of Starlin's recaps were text heavy, but this is all sequential art with lots of the "Mad Titan," a whole lot of cosmic goodies and some outstanding images of Capt. Marvel (breaking the fourth wall) thrown in for good measure. Even better, Starlin was further along in developing his style by the time he started Warlock, and the inking by Steve Leialoha is topnotch, so the whole two-page sequence looks amazing. Cheers!

I have always Loved Steve's inking on Jim here, particularly Marv. I cannot think of a better portrayal of Mar-Vell than in this historically significant sequence! You are a most fortunate collector!!! Bravo!!!

If I may be so bold to add, page 18 needs it own position in your gallery. Having both pages sequentially is awesome, but both pages stand out on their own merits. Regardless, you cannot ask for a finer Starlin example from his great run. Congrats!

This Captain Marvel figure is the bomb. Congrats on getting such a key page. Starlin really had a love for this character. Spectacular art. Congrats.

I read somewhere that it took Starlin ten tries submitting to Marvel before they gave him a shot. If that is true, man, did they waste a lot of time.
Gaze upon his works, ye mighty, and tremble!
