Commission from NYCC 2017 done on a Lady Death blank

Pencils, inks & colors (with Copic Marker) by me.

The request was to have Lady Death with a scythe & dragon in the piece. I definitely prefer it when the person getting the commission has an idea of what they're looking for, as then I know I'm heading in the right direction of what they're hoping to get. Making sure that the final piece is something they'll be happy with is of paramount importance.

That said, getting all the elements to fit properly on such a small space was a challenge, but I'm happy with how the layout came together on the page.

I went with a fiery background and tried to add that yellow-hued reflection on her skin, hair & scythe. Once all the work of the pencils & inks are done, and I know all blanks by Lady Death have good paper, I can chill & have play time with the colouring, which is really fun. :)
