Description

Cover for Perry Rhodan Anniversary #4, 11 x 12.75", published in 1983, done in Gouache, an opaque watercolor. German science fiction artist Johnny Bruck (1921-1995) was one of the most prolific illustrators in the history of science fiction. He painted over 6,000 covers during his 40-year career, as well as inking black & white interior illustrations. Most of his work appeared in the long-running German magazine Perry Rhodan and its sister publication Atlan. He died in a motorcycle crash in 1995. Fellow CAF member Markus Rohrwild stirred interest in Bruck when he began posting the artist�s work to his page and offering some of the thousands of paintings he purchased from the late widow.
