DescriptionMany thanks to my good friend, Markus Rohrwild, for being willing to part with this treasure: Iconic art by Alex Schomburg used as the cover of Future Science Fiction magazine from November 1953 and republished as the cover of the German UTOPIA series (edition #57 from 1956) 'König der Roboter' (King of Robots). Gouache/Tempera (water-soluble color) on illustration board, 15.5 x 21." Some parts of this painting look like airbrush. Signed lower left. This painting was also included in 'Science Fiction Art' by Brian Aldiss, page 48, published by Bounty Books in 1975. Restoration by the SIK-ISEA Institute in Zurich (Swiss Institute for Art Research.)Social/Sharing |
