DescriptionAs a kid I was a huge fan of the Universal Monsters. Still a fan. Franken-Castle may be a silly concept but visually loved the idea. Just too much fun for the eyes. Anyone else a fan of mash-ups? I am looking for the Brereton FrankenCastle cover if anyone out there is considering selling. Thanks for checking out my gallery. Social/Sharing |

Love this cover. I always thought those giant pipes above him were part of his machine gun arm haha.

This was a concept that never should have worked but it did. Fabulous cover!

Hmm, any relation to the Frankenberry cereal monster? Seriously though, whether it's a silo, tunnel, or sewer, there's just something about the way Mike does these shots with cavernous backgrounds. So multi-dimensional and so much depth. Plus he's so good with all the mechanical stuff, be it sewer pipes, machinery, or robots. This is a great McKone cover.

I've never heard of this creation until now and although "silly" isn't the exact word that comes to MY mind, I do love McKone's work. The Franken-Castle figure is actually what I like least about this piece though. That's not to say it's badly drawn of course, because it's actually very well drawn. No, it's simply because the worm's eye view perspective and the different textures just make every single other element on this piece even more impressive looking than his figure work. The lighting is also tremendous. Congratulations on acquiring this fine work of art!

Who better, really, than The Punisher as Frankenstein. Great cover!

This looks so Richard Corben inspired in how the finishes are done! McKone in the lab cooking up a masterpiece cover that's unlike what we've seen before!

Who doesn't have a soft spot in their carburetor for Franken-Castle? Amazing!

I was in the camp that hated Franken-Castle. Never read a single issue. However, looking back I can appreciate pieces like this just for the art itself. Great McKone cover Dan!

Such a Duke Nukem or Doom feel to this. It could easily have been a video game cover in the 90s.

Crazy cool cover! Love the Franken-Castle concept--And it's so perfectly captured here with Franken-Castle doing the classic Punisher-drop on the Villains!! Beautifully composed scene. And the inks are spot on!

Awesome, man! McKone really killed it on these Franken-Castle covers. I almost picked up one from him at a con...seeing this is making me think I should've lol. He poured so much into them - here you got the nice perspective and contrast, detail, and love that technique of the gradient on the robot character on the bottom. Sweet stuff all around. Congrats!
