Description

Vienna Comic Con 2016 convention sketch made on a personal request. My very very first piece of original art drawn by all time favourite artist. :D

Sincerely that whole weekend was one surreal experience. Booking hotel and buying tickets for another country soon after they've announced they will be comming to the convention just to see him(them) in person was totally improvised in a hurry. For a moment whole world seemed a bit smaller.

To top all that I was fortunate enough to make it from the list of 20 into the final 3 (correction 5) pieces that Adam choose to draw for the convention (Wilma Flintstone and Goblin Queen in larger format and Black Cat and Poison Ivy headsketches). To finally own a piece of the magic is truly a dream come true! Not to mention how nice Mr. and Mrs. Huges were. Always patient to answer all the questions fans had (too bad I could't stay longer). Really I connot thank them enough.

As far as piece itself goes I will say this:

Black against white, red against gold, rough and simple outlines against subtile and rich colouring of the skin. Although simple at first look all this contrasts, present in most of the other of his works, make this piece visually interesting to watch every time. Look closer and small imperfections will give you insight into way how this piece was made.

Composition wise characters pose kinda reminds me of his earlier Catwoman piece http://tinyurl.com/jrw9occ .
Who knows, maybe he even drew inspiration from this Black Widow figure too http://tinyurl.com/go7lodu .
Personally I wouldn't mind a bit more sudactive/dominant pose but artist's choice has to be respected. Frozen in a moment it's almost like she has a story to tell but we just got a glimpse of it. Who knows, maybe BW had a wild night and was just caught on the run. ;)

Sketch measures 8x10 inches and was made with markers on the white paper.

Well he did 5 in total ;) Me and a friend picked up ours the first thing on Saturday (Add a full figure Goblin Queen and an Poison Ivy head)

Goblin Queen of course! They posted it as a teaser on facebook. :D I wondered where did that one end up. Should've gotten there earlier so I could see it (them) in full. ;P

the Facebook teaser was actually from a different Goblin Queen piece...

Honestly It kinda does look more datailed than standard convention sketches. Mixture of different kind of drawing mediums gaves it away. Thank You for the clarification. :)
