DescriptionI am so thrilled to be new owner of this piece. I LOVE it. Brunner was at the top of his game with this piece in 1975 and he knocked this out of the park. You could not ask for a more perfect image of Dr. Strange by, what I think, is the best artist to draw the character. I also love that there is a hint of Vincent Price in the face. Too cool!! Please enjoy. The following is an edited version of the Comiclink description:This is the centerspread portrait of Doctor Strange, the Ancient One and Clea that appeared in the oversized 1975 Doctor Strange Treasury AKA Marvel Treasury Edition #6. At 12.5" X 18.5", this is a large piece and really conveys the power that Brunner brought to these characters. With over 50 years adventures behind him, only Doctor Strange's co-creator, the legendary Steve Ditko, ranks as high with fans as the work of Brunner on the character. Frank Brunner's work on Doctor Strange in the early Bronze Age was relatively brief, but it is highly cherished by fans and will forever be remembered due to the high quality of the work. Overall, Brunner produced a small but highly impactful body of work for Marvel in the 1970s that has a loyal following among fans of original art. Brunner is best known for his work on Doctor Strange and for drawing the first four solo Howard the Duck stories. Brunner's style was perfectly suited to Doctor Strange's trippy adventures, and together with writer Steve Englehart, the pair took Doctor Strange to a new level that even his creators, Lee and Ditko, could not have imagined. Doctor Strange is now a major new Marvel Studios movie so this is a great time to celebrate the classic work created for the character during his second decade. The character has received an enormous boost that has pushed him on to the "A-List" of Marvel characters. Doctor Strange has been Marvel's #1 mystic since his first appearance in 1963's Strange Tales #110. The character was briefly rested in the early 70s but brought back for a new series in Marvel Premiere in 1973. Brunner drew the stories in Marvel Premiere #6 and #9-14 and then helped relaunch the Doctor Strange title in 1974, drawing issues #1-#5. This piece, with its 1975 publication date, was one of Brunner's last pieces featuring the character done during the Bronze Age. Social/Sharing |

Few pieces of original art capture the essence of an artist's vision for a popular character as well as this one did. Congrats!

This is definitive Dr Strange for me and what I see in my mind's eye when I think of the good doctor. Epic, grail, and all the usual superlatives fit the bill for this iconic image. Congrats!

Brunner had the magic in him during the Doctor Strange years. The linear images draws you in with Strange Ss the center of the image. The graphics are incredible.
