DescriptionOne of my all time favorite villains is Dr. Octopus and I really enjoy the back and forth struggles he has with Spider-Man. He's been around since ASM 3 and has formed the original Sinister Six, almost married Aunt May, indirectly killed Gwen Stacy's dad and eventually killed Pete and became the Superior Spiderman. And who knows what else is in store in the years to come. Here Pete has been poisoned and Doc Ock makes an antidote to save him. I just love the last line of the page where he mentions that Spidey wont believe it but he wishes him nothing but the best. A gullible reader would likely believe him but secretly he's saving him so he can be the one to kill him! (Maybe foreshadowing ASM #700). A true archnemesis. Social/Sharing |

Excellent description, and an even better page from a fantastic storyline I remember so fondly. You know, Norman Osborn is credited with putting Peter through a lot (and he has), but all that really pales in comparison to Doc Ock's machinations over the years. No other villain can say that they actually *killed* Spider-Man (even though no one realized it, and of course it didn't stick, thank goodness).

And let’s not forget how many villains can say they “nudge nudge wink wink” Aunt May.

Some nice storytelling here and you're right about the interplay between Pete and Doc Ock. You've been on a nice run with these Bagley ASM pieces, Riz - keep 'em comin'! Congrats!
