Description

When Eric opened for commissions, I jumped at the chance to FINALLY own a piece by one of my top two favorite artists (looking at my gallery, I think it's quite clear who the other one is ;-) ).

I've been a huge Canete fan for over five years now, since I first encountered his work on DeviantArt and I've followed his work closely since.
I've wanted a commission by him ever since, but they've always been outside of my price range. But then he started taking these bust commissions and I quickly ordered one.

That just left the question of which character to get. First I had ordered a Doctor Strange piece, because I figured Eric would knock that out of the park. But then it dawned on me that much of Strange's character comes through in his arms and hands, which wouldn't be included in just a bust.
So, for inspiration, I started digging through Eric's archives, looking at all his art on DA and Instagram, trying to find the perfect character. And I saw he had done a lot of awesome pieces of Harley.

It was perfect.

In just a bust, Harley would be amazing. Her "ears" would provide Eric with plenty of opportunity to use his Awesome (in the true meaning of the word) compositional skills.

And boy did he deliver!

I can't believe I have a Canete original hanging on my wall!

(The additional image is a prelim sketch, done on the back of the drawing. While still great, I have to agree with Eric's eventual decision that the other design is much better :-) )
