Continuing on this year somewhat Venom trend, here is a KILLER double spread (border to border) by the incredible Tradd Moore!

Venom 150 is my favorite work by Tradd so far. For as brilliant as his Surfer work has been (I just read it and there is no denying it is exceptional), his more abstract, psychedelic, underground-y and even cubic in place approach didn’t appeal to me as his Venom work did. I can only hope that his slight change of style on Surfer was his way to suit his art for the book as it seems he adopts a different approach for each project he draws.

Having rechecked the book recently, I will daringly say that this is the best page(s) of the book. There was another double spread, packed with details and art but much less readable imho.

This action sequence is truly amazing. You get 3 different Venom/Eddie Brock shots as Eddie is symbioting up and leaping to face his foe, the Scorpion (in a new mecha-ized redesign by Tradd). Lots of symbiote tendrils and teeth whose details are fantastic.

If that was not a sufficient incentive, you have the Scorpion striking its tail (…) at Venom with a slash that goes off panel on the right to reappear on the left to strike. Such a dynamic and bold storytelling device.

Another element which led me to excitedly buy this page is the floor deformation (under a blow) for which Tradd is known (and which shows is animé influences I believe). I love when he does that as it radiates violent energy and give such intensity to the scene. A Tradd’s trademark (bad alliterative pun intended ;)

It’s been said before (by me and others), but the precision of his art and inks places Tradd in a category of his own. And I respond soooooo well to that kind of immaculate art ^^

Both the Tradd Moore Venom cover and this double splash were my biggest purchases of 2017 and biggest purchases ever (up to that point, the record has long since been blown out). Thanks to Felix Lu for taking my money and allowing me to pay in several installments on this.

This is my 6 update in my yearly CAF B-Day party.

This DPS does kill, Fred. A real 3D effect, wiith Venom coming at you, the Scorpiion charging him, and the kinda moving floor! All lends to a dynamic image. And those inks, wow. Still looking for my Moore piece. Congrats,

Agreed, there are the best pages of the issue. I'm still kicking myself for not buying a page from that issue, especially considering his prices on Silver Surfer: Black. With your cover of Venom, you pretty much have all you need as far as Tradd's art is concerned (until his next project and the next one and the...) Seeing it in person must be a sight for sore eyes. Huge, huge congrats on that perfect DPS!!! A perfect addition to your stellar collection.

Oh man, congrats Frank! What an incredible example of the energy Tradd can pack into a dps! I kick myself now having missed this issue and the art drop. The kinetic details here are amazing, I love the floor movement and the sybiote-flow with the mech of Scorpion; all things Tradd has shown to be very adept at. I love how he makes everything he works on his own.

You weren't kidding about not getting my page because you found one you liked more! Or should that be moore? Your Tradd pages are incredible. I LOVE the abstracted yet meticulously detailed action. It's genius. Huge congrats!
