DescriptionFrom 2006: Jim Craig was the original penciller on Marvel Two in One Annual 4 (1979), a book that featured the Thing and Black Bolt (from the Inhumans) against a villain called Graviton. I asked Jim to re-visit that story in the form of a new drawing and he really came through with a terrific drawing... on vintage Marvel stock, to boot.Trivia fans will be interested to note that MTIO Annual 4 was originally drawn as two books and was intended for the regular series. Marvel combined them into one long story and published them as an annual. In addition, the Graviton villain was originally supposed to be an "inverse" character (solid black body with white lines for details), but that was nixed after the character Nuklo showed up in the Project Pegasus story line. Update: This drawing has now been graced with the incredible inks of Doug Hazlewood. In addition to doing a stellar job inking the zillions of details in this scene, Doug also kept this art safe through Hurricane Harvey. Doug has a gallery right here on CAF where you can contact him directly. Social/Sharing |

MTIO Annual #4 was such a fun book, and I love that you have two lovely tributes to that issue now with Doug's inked piece. I would buy a new comic from the art team of Craig and Hazlewood in a heartbeat. Thanks for sharing!

You don't see very many Jim Craig commissions, but he did a phemomenal job on this one, and Hazlewood's inks took it into the stratosphere!
