Description

What can I say? I love the original Fantastic Four issues by Lee and Kirby... Creative geniuses, firing on all cylinders. And the stories from that run where Ben Grimm plays a central role? Forget about it. That is doubling down on pure goodness. I am only flesh and bone, people. Only flesh and bone.

FF # 5 is a time travel caper involving Dr. Doom's time machine. And pirates. And Ben dressed up as Blackbeard. Done and done.

The art here is by the great Ken Steacy. This was started at a local convention and finished at Ken's studio. I'm never sure if that makes it a con sketch, a commission, or what. In any case, I am a happy camper.

In a lot of ways I wouldn't expect this to work but Ken Stacey's style really nails this and captures the roughness & rawness of those early FF comics

Love how Ken captures the early design of the Kirby-Ayers look to the Thing.

This is superb; Ken did a phenomenal job. I am really liking this but I cannot find the Circus of Crime anywhere?

If you squint really hard, you can see them approaching in the far distance on a schooner. (You thought I left them out???)
