DescriptionThe first Brave & the Bold comic I ever bought was #102 in ’72 where Batman teamed up with the Teen Titans. So imagine my excitement in 2004 when I found several of its original pages on the Artist’s Choice website. I even waited for the Thanksgiving sale before scooping up several pages for a steal (That site had so many other great Jim Aparo stuff from other B&B issues and the Phanthom Stranger, but I was very picky & didn’t buy any of them, to my regret. These days, there’s not much of interest left there). For a slight fee, the pages were even passed on to Jim Aparo himself to autograph the bottom of the pages before they were sent to me. He died later that year (2005). But the note made me feel a stronger connection to him even though I never had the privilege to have met him. This was the last page Aparo did before becoming sick, which led to Neal Adams & Dick Giordano finishing the rest of the story. What an amazing issue! Social/Sharing |

Guy, hi, superb Jim Aparo pages from BB 102; and congrats on the great personal story of how you got them signed by him. Sadly, I never got to meet Jim Aparo. ps Jim actually drew the first 13 pages ( I own page 13) and then Adams took over.

I've noticed you & I were probably born around the same time or started collecting comics around the same time so we have remarkably the same tastes. I always assume it's you who outbids me on ebay & other sites (you probably have more money than me!) I think you got the Irv Novick Robin pages from #244?
