Description

The Targets on Two Worlds - Quite possibly my favorite Justice League comic! Great cross-over! My favorite page to the series!

As the Ultra-Humanite walks into the room, The Signal comments that he can't believe that they are going to be led by an ape.

And Rag-Doll tells The Signal to quiet down. That The Ultra Humanite had fought Superman and his brain rivaled Alexi Luthor. (The only time I remember seeing Lex Luthor calling him Alexi Luthor).

Wow - it went back to Action #14!

Just LOVE this cross-over!

Jonathan Cheval, formerly the notorious Monocle, returns home to find someone waiting for him. Phillip Cobb, the infamous Signalman, escapes from a hospital. Cobb is intercepted by Killer Frost. Roger Hayden, the Psycho Pirate, uses his emotion manipulating abilities to escape from his prison cell. Hayden boldly attempts to escape from prison, only to be pinned down by gunfire, from the sentries. Cheval, as the Monocle, rescues Hayden, and expedites Hayden's escape. Lowlifes attempt to rape a, seemingly, homeless woman. To their horror, their would-be victim turns out to be the Cheetah.

The three men are lucky to escape with their lives. Cobb, as the Signalman, and Killer Frost, confront the Cheetah. The Rag Doll robs a bank. With the police closing in on him, the Rag Doll finds an unexpected avenue of escape, as the Monocle ushers him into a waiting car. Hayden, as the Psycho Pirate, incapacitates the pursuing police. The Cheetah, Killer Frost, and the Signalman, call on horticulturist Jason Woodrue. The Cheetah violently exposes Woodrue for what he truly is, Plant-Master, the Floronic Man. The Mist murders his former henchmen. The Mist is recruited into the new Secret Society of Super-Villains.

The Cheetah, Killer Frost, the Plant-Master, and the Signalman meet with the Brainwave. After subduing the Signalman, for his ill-timed defiance, the Brainwave transports all four criminals to Earth-2. The Cheetah, Killer Frost, the Plant-Master, and the Signalman meet with the Mist, the Monocle, the Psycho Pirate, and the Rag Doll. The Ultra-Humanite, self-appointed leader of the new Secret Society of Super-Villains, reveals his presence. The Rag Doll reveals the Ultra-Humanite's history, as the arch-nemesis of the Golden Age Superman, to the Signalman.

The Ultra-Humanite believes that if ten specific heroes, from Earth-1 and Earth-2, are removed from reality, the universe will correct the imbalance, by removing all super-heroes, from either Earth-1, or Earth-2. The Ultra-Humanite has gathered together the arch-nemeses of said heroes to enact his plan to remove them. The Justice League of America, and the Justice Society of America, hold their annual get-together, aboard the satellite headquarters of the Justice League of America. Aquaman, and the Red Tornado, are surprised the gathering has come and gone without incident.

The Black Canary keys in a temporary code, to allow the Green Arrow to use the Justice League's transporter to return to Star City. Alone on monitor duty, the Black Canary is surprised by the Mist. Unaware that the Mist has gained the power of intangibility, as opposed to only being invisible, the Black Canary, accidentally takes herself out of the fight. The Golden Age Hawkman is attacked by the Monocle. The Golden Age Hawkman retaliates by summoning an army of birds. The Golden Age Hawkman takes possession of the Monocle's weaponized eyepiece. Unbeknownst to the Golden Age Hawkman, the Monocle can remote operate his eyepiece.

The Golden Age Hawkman is stuck down by point blank laser fire, erupting from the eyepiece in his hand. The Cheetah attacks Wonder Woman. The Cheetah maneuvers Wonder Woman into accidentally lassoing the Washington Monument. Wonder Woman is forcibly pulled off the wing of her Invisible Jet, and crashes hard into the Washington Monument, before falling the the ground. The Cheetah presses her advantage, and her attack. The Mist, the Monocle, and the Cheetah all report their individual successes, to the Ultra-Humanite.

Unbeknownst to the other villains, the Ultra-Humanite knows exactly which Earth will lose all it's heroes, when the Secret Society of Super-Villains completes their task. A fact that will not sit well with half of the team.

This is actually my favorite JLA/JSA Cross-Over and this is my favorite page with the Ultra-Humanite returning after action #14!
