Taking offers on this George Perez Marvel Tales Cover between now and Tuesday. Still raising money for a friend and giving him a part of the sale. End of Tuesday I am pulling it. Serious offers only please. I am willing to sell it, but not willing to give it away. I have a number in mind, but in case I can get more for him, I'd like to take offers.

The legendary George Perez drew this rare Spider-Man cover featuring Spidey about to be mowed down by the Hobgoblin for Marvel Tales #261 (1992). Perez is one of the most beloved artists of the past 40 years. Spider-Man is one of the most beloved characters for over 50 years. However, the two have rarely crossed paths as Perez' work for Marvel has focused mainly around Avengers and Fantastic Four. This is only one of only a handful of Perez covers featuring the character battling one of his greatest villains. Perez drew this original cover for Marvel Tales, the long-running Spider-Man reprint book. The story featured in the issue with this cover was a reprint of Amazing Spider-Man #251, one of the earliest Hobgoblin appearances.

55 years after his introduction in Amazing Fantasy #15 (1962), Spider-Man is bigger than ever and remains the #1 collected title in the hobby. The character's integration into the Marvel Cinematic Universe starting with 2016's Captain America: Civil War and continuing with the hit 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming, has been a huge boost for the already mega-popular character. The new actor playing Spider-Man, Tom Holland, has been a big hit with audiences so far. Spider-Man: Homecoming, which also features Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and Michael Keaton as the Vulture, opened to strong reviews and box office results and looks like it will be one of the biggest hits of 2017! Spider-Man movies will likely be with us for decades to come, assuring the character will remain at the top of the superhero heap. Four more moves featuring Spider-Man have already been announced, not to mention spin-offs in the works including a film featuring Venom and another film featuring Black Cat and Silver Sable together.

The Hobgoblin was introduced in Amazing Spider-Man #238 (1983). Designed as an updated version of Spider-Man's #1 enemy, the Green Goblin, the Hobgoblin proved to be immensely popular as the mystery of his identity became a central theme in Spider-Man stories of the 1980s.

George Perez is one of the most beloved artists in comic book history. Perez broke into comics at Marvel in the mid-70s and became a sensation at a young age drawing both of Marvel's chief team books of the time, Avengers and Fantastic Four. Perez brought a whole new level of detail to superhero comic books, which made him a sensation with fans. In 1980, he switched to DC where he made history as the co-creator and artist of the New Teen Titans. He would make history again a few years later with DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths, the book that changed the entire DC Universe forever. After famously relaunching Wonder Woman for DC, Perez returned to Marvel in the early 90's where he drew the opening chapters of Infinity Gauntlet and later returned to Avengers for another substantial run.
