Rick Parker Editors.................................. Jim Salicrup The police are on to Kraven as they discover evidence leading to his lie...Ned Leeds died not too long before this story, and Peter and MJ married right before it. Two major milestones in Peter Parker's life. This story depicts the third. Way back, since Amazing Spider-Man #15, Kraven entered the list of Spider-Man's enemies. Since then, he suffered numerous defeats, and after each one he became more obsessed in catching his ultimate prey. Spidey never considered him much of a danger, cause he was always defeated mostly without any effort. In this story, however, Kraven succeeds in killing Spider-Man, buries him and takes his place, beating a foe Spidey could barely beat with Captain America's help. By the way, this is a story where Pete still uses the black costume. The most HISTORIC story to EVER come out during the decade of the 1980's for Marvel Comics was the CLASSIC 6 part storyline aptly titled: "Kraven's Last Hunt!" This GREAT page 9 of Kraven's Last Hunt Part 6 of 6 titled "Ascending!" features Spider-man throughout, as he fights Vermin in the sewers while we still see panels of Spider-man crawling up from the grave! VERY HISTORIC page! Thanks Mike¡¡ ************************* COMMENTS: Mike Zeck's name will go down in the history of the ninth art for various reasons. To begin with being the penciller of that successful experiment that was Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars, as well as illustrate one of the best stages of the series The Punisher. But if the fandom will remember Zeck for something, it will be for his 6 issues in the saga "Krave's Last Hunt" (Amazing Spider-Man 293-294, Spectacular Spider-Man 131-132 and Web of Spider-Man31-32). The saga, which was written by the great (not great, biggest) J.M.DeMatteis, narrated as Kraven the Hunter, after many defeats, beat Spider-Man, trapped him, proved that he was better than he and then committed suicide. This story (which was originally intended for Batman but DC rejected the idea) marked a before and after in the arachnid history, both for its quality (it is considered one of the best sagas in American comic book history) and its obscurity... And it is through this darkness that Marvel chose Zeck for history. Although we had seen Zeck in stories more "luminous", like Secret Wars, the artist did a spectacular and perfect work that took a already very good script to the status of Masterpiece. The psychological stress and tension that the reader is subjected to throughout the more than 100 pages of the story are largely due to Zeck's excellent narrative, that does not leave a second of respite to the reader, with pages Dark and detailed. As for the page in question, we find one of the highlights of the story, with the fight between desperate Spider-Man against an inhuman Vermin that, surely, caused more of a nightmare. We are facing a key page of one of the most recorded sagas in the history of Spider-Man. An undisputed jewel of the American comic book that would mark forever The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Uno de mis cómics de Marvel favoritos, por su dibujo y por su guión (y por Kraven, por supuesto). ¡Enhorabuena!

The sewer as a battle field. One of the great ideas that made this a dark psychological feast.Vermin a fevered outcast full of loathing. Will always be one of the best comic series ever.
