DescriptionI remember buying this off the comic rack at the young age of 15! Always loved this cover. Klaus never gets enough credit for this covers!Synopsis for Superman and Batman: "Part One: The Origin of Null & Void" The voodoo artifact that gave Null and Void their powers is found frozen in ice and is kept aboard a ship at the Caribbean Sea. Meanwhile in Gotham City, Superman and Batman attend the trial of Peter McDonald, but they can't get the judge to prosecute him because of lack of evidence. As the man also known as Void goes free, his friend, Solomon Baxter's life is in ruins after his wife left him and the IRS takes away everything from him. Remembering the origin of his powers as Null and his partnership with Peter, Solomon decides to get in touch with their friend. When they are reunited, Peter and Sol learn about the artifact that gave them their powers and they travel together to Costa Rica to retrieve it. Batman, who had been following McDonald in order to find anything that could help him and Superman get him arrested, informs Superman about the situation and they travel to the Caribbean in their civilian identities. In Costa Rica, Batman confronts Null and Void while Superman finds the source of their powers and only finds a couple of humans still frozen solid and preserved in the bottom of the ocean, similar to Null and Void's source of power. When Superman returns to aid Batman, he tries to keep the voodoo artifact away from the powerful crooks, but Void sends it and him into another dimension with his teleportation powers. Meanwhile, Batmam recovers, but the crooks have escaped and the authorities start looking for the missing artifact. I love the details in the inking of the Null and Void covers. Also, kudos to Ed Hannigan for the initial cover designs.
