DescriptionOne of the GREATEST issues of the Sub-Mariner run by John Buscema and one of his best inkers Dan Adkins! I bought this from Mike Thibodeaux back in 2015, and LOVE it!"In the Rage of Battle!" Guest-starring the Thing. Written by Roy Thomas. Art by John Buscema and Dan Adkins. It's the heavyweight bout for the championship as the Savage Sub-Mariner clashes with the ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing! "Another whom I did love? Aye, there was... once! But that was many years ago..." Sub-Mariner Synopsis for "In the Rage of Battle!" Namor and Diane Arliss nurse Lady Dorma back to health. Namor tells of another woman he loved, Betty Dean, whom he met decades ago and had convinced him to fight against the Nazis in WW2. Meanwhile, the Thing is hired to deliver Destiny's Helmet of Power to Washington. Namor intercepts him because he's concerned that its power is too much for anyone to handle. Their battle rages on until an older Betty Dean appeals to Namor to end the carnage. Namor defeats the Thing and leaves to dispose of the helmet. Social/Sharing |

Namor vs Torch is as classic as Thing Vs Hulk. A battle with elemental forces of nature that first began in Marvel mystery comics #8 and 9. It still resonates as they are eternal rivals by virtue of their powers.

And are we certain that Mister Spock wasn't inspired by Sub-Mariner. Only without the temper. Hmmmmmmm
