Description

This is a dream come true! I've wanted a page from this issue by Mike for about 30 years. A page has popped up here and there, and each time, I missed it! The artwork is so lush and majestic - look at Namor coming out of the water! Mike drew two issues of Marvel Fanfare with the Sub-Mariner, this issue and #43, which was beautifully inked by P. Craig Russell, (and also had Marvel Fanfare #34 and #45 had pin-ups, but I digress), but in regards to story pages, only #16 and #43, but with #16 this is PURE Mignola, and I'm grateful to be able to get this page finally. (and the horse is wicked beautiful too!!!!!!) Special thanks to Mike Burkey for offering to me.

Congrats on getting a page you've wanted for so long, Nick, I know what a great feeling that is! I too remember all of Mignola's earliest art appearances in the early 80's and I also loved it and thought he was destined to be a superstar. This early Namor art of his is so great!

Really nice curvy Mignola art of the period that was more fantasy influenced than more Kirby superhero influenced work.
