DescriptionA great page where you have continuity and set up. The first time The Avengers meet The Sub-Mariner!This continues the story from Avengers #1 and #2 and setting up for Cap's return. And in this story, you have Iron Man looking for The Hulk, and then the Avengers fighting the Hulk. Sub-Mariner is alone after losing everything in Fantastic Four Annual #1. And you have The Sub-Mariner, Hulk and all of the Avengers on one page. Hulk and Subby team up, and yet they plot against each other. I remember when I won this in Heritage. It was my final bid, and it was a cut bid. I wanted it, but didn't want to go crazy. Fortunately, I won it. Love this page! More info: The Avengers Meet... Sub-Mariner!, script by Stan Lee, pencils by Jack Kirby, inks by Paul Reinman; After he left them, the Avengers feel responsible for the damages that the Hulk may cause; They start a search for him and find him. When they start to battle, the Sub-Mariner joins the Hulk. Roster includes: Thor, Giant-Man, Wasp, and Iron Man. Guest appearances by the Hulk, Rick Jones, the Sub-Mariner, the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, the original X-Men, Odin, and miscellaneous Asgardians. Social/Sharing |

Early Marvel Magic,it dosen't get much better than this ! I love the way it puts me in that early nostalgic mood when I see these pages,congrats !

You've got Avengers in 7 ouut of 8 panels, 5 different Avengers plusa then villain and now hero, and hilarious dialogue of the Hulk and Namor both simultaneously thinking they'll backstab each other when the time is right. An impossibly wonderful Silver Age gem!

The dialogue between Hulk and Subby is fantastic! And the playfullness of The Wasp and Giant-Man. So much story and such a great page!

Thanks Michael! It's incredible the balance of seriousness and focus at the top panels, and then the middle going to fun in the bottom panels. Stan and Jack were on fire, and Paul was great. And they rushed this to take the place of Daredevil #1 that was running late! What an incredible series created in a rush.
