Description

To celebrate the 100th issue of Tales to Astonish, Marvel had the stars of that title's two features, the Hulk and the Sub-Mariner, crossover into a single story drawn by the regular Hulk artist at the time, Marie Severin. This page features the Sub-Mariner in some great undersea action. Namor is upset that he's been branded a traitor in Atlantis and has a plan to team-up with the Hulk, to form an unstoppable combined force. We see him swimming toward the southeast U.S. where the Hulk is often found. When he surfaces, men on a ship start firing at him.

Such a great page with Namor looking regal and yet abandoned! Great power in Marie's art and great inks by Dan Adkins!

That third panel has a powerful rise from the water in a mid swim stroke motion that fits in with someone making a dramatically royal entrance with a divine grace. The eye candy is throughout the entire page with Severin and Adkins.
