Description"I look down at it and know without question: I love this world. But there's something missing."— Wally West I Rebirth #1 page #49 by Phil Jimenez and Matt Santorelli with script by Geoff Johns! I've had this for almost 5 years and just getting to posting this beautiful page! The left side is the pure pencils by Phil, and on the right is the inked page over blue line. Just gorgeous and reminiscent of Barry's Crisis on Infinite Earth's scene at the bottom. I have almost the entire chapter by Phil and Matt, with the exception of the page where Barry brings Wally back in and they hug! LOVE IT! Synopsis for "Legacy" Next, Wally West is drawn to an old man in a retirement home. Wally recognizes him as John Thunder and instructs him to find the Justice Society. A mysterious woman is being held by Amanda Waller and Maggie Sawyer for stealing a sandwich. The woman says she came here to speak with Superman. Despite Waller telling her that Superman is missing the woman says that everything is going to be alright because she's seen the future. Waller tells Sawyer the only thing in her possession was a ring. Ryan Choi discovers a message from his boss, Professor Raymond Palmer, stating that he has trapped himself in the Microverse. Palmer has left Choi a Bio-Belt so he will be able to rescue him. Jaime Reyes seeks out scientist and CEO of Kord Industries, Ted Kord, to help remove a scarab that has attached itself to him. Kord attempts to convince Reyes to partner up with him as the Blue Beetle. After Reyes leaves for school Doctor Fate arrives to warn Kord that the scarab is not alien, but in fact magic in origin. Elsewhere, Pandora retreats down an alleyway where she is killed by an explosion caused by unknown means. #geoffjohns #philjimenez #originalart #comicart #comicbookart #originalcomicbookart #dcrebirth #dcrebirthcomics Social/Sharing |

Gary Frank, Ivan Reis, and Phil Jimenez did masterful work on this entire issue. Every page is a gem. But Phil was clearly aiming for something deeper here . . . a visceral connection with George’s work on Crisis. And wow, did Phil ever connect.

Beautiful work and one of the few true highlights of DC Comics in this decade ! Jimenez is probably the only one who could possibly follow George Perez's footsteps and he does a great job of doing homage and his own thing at the same time. ! Wally is my Flash and I was thrilled to have him back.
