The only time they would ever do this characte was to celebrate the bicentennial which was very prevalent everywhere as America found something good to raly behind as it climbed out of the funk of the Vietnam War and Wategate into a more optimistic mood at the end of the decade. King Kirby and Romita were Marvels best, so they took it seriously even whie having fun with the concepts.

Nick, this is an outstanding Kirby Cap splash! I love the idea of Captain America in 1776. His costume and shield are really great. And yeah, no matter the year, decade or century, there's always some version of the Red Skull skulking around to ruin Cap's day. GREAT addition, Nick!
