I LOVE this double page spread!"Just light up, rookie." — Green Lantern (Sinestro) The penultimate chapter of "Secret Origin"! Hal Jordan and Sinestro face off against Abin Sur's killer - Atrocitus! But what dark secret has Atrocitus uncovered about the impending "Blackest Night?" And what revelation will forever change the relationship between Hal and Carol Ferris? Synopsis for "Secret Origin Book 6" William Hand cowers as Hal Jordan and Sinestro battle Atrocitus. After recharging their power rings, Hal Jordan and Sinestro manage to subdue Atrocitus. William Hand grabs Atrocitus' weapon and quickly flees the area. After an argument with Sinestro, a frustrated Hal Jordan barges into Carol Ferris' house to confront her father. He instead discovers that he has been bedridden for quite some time. Carol tells Hal that her father blamed himself for the death of Hal's father and that the guilt took a toll on his health. Hal and Carol Ferris reconcile, just before Hal makes peace with Sinestro. The two are then called upon by the Guardians of the Universe for breaking intergalactic law. Social/Sharing |

Reis and Albert knocked out all the D-Listers off the page with Hal and Sinestro muscling Atrocitus off the page as well!

If one is going to rewrite an origin story, you better make it count.
And boy, did Johns nail this . . . taking one of the most beloved origin stories and making it mean so much more than a lazy retcon.
Observe a young William Hand in the lower left of page 6. After Atrocitus looses his battle here with Sinestro and rookie Hal Jordan, Billy walks away with the Atrocities maguffin that sucks Latern power, setting the stage for him becoming Black Hand and eventual leader of the Black Lantern Corps.
