DescriptionThis is a BEAUTIFUL Jae Lee Inhumans page! Jae and Marvel earned an Eisner for this series.Had this on the air on The Experience tonight, and it wasn't claimed, so . . . . . . . . Borrowing this from Marcus as he said it far more eloquently than I ever could! "Really great as it was a game changer for the Inhumans where Jae Lee showed how to position them for the new millenium having a darker edge rather than being brightly clad heroes. The style is pre Dark Tower refined pencils and has that electrifying dark and gloomy atmosphere." by Marcus Wai Also, . Attilan is under attack from without and within. Can the Royal Family, led by the mute Black Bolt, repel the foreign invaders who assail their outer defense, as well as the internal threat of Black Bolt's insane brother, Maximus the Mad? AND The Inhumans Volume 2 by Jae Lee and Paul Jenkins was adapted in a motion comic mini-series comprised of 12 episodes called Inhumans. The mini-series was created by Marvel Knights Animation and released by Shout! Factory on DVD in April 23, 2013. Social/Sharing |

Wait a minute, that comment was for a different Inhumans page. This one gives me the creeps with the mad scientist first panel that even shocks Maximus. I think Jae was channeling the really dark nosferatu or the Coppola Bram Stoker's Dracula film aesthetic here.

Jae's choice of how to ink this page from panel to panel is what makes this page so nice IMHO. After that stellar first panel, the 2nd panel almost feels bare by comparison with only the foreground character inked boldly, but it's a perfect setup for the next 2 panels where by the time you get to the last one you have the darkest/boldest panel on the page. really beautiful stuff from Jae
