Description

This is an Armstrong portrait that I picked up at an estate auction recently. I've never seen it reproduced anywhere, but it looks like the model, Alice Mann, whom he used for the pinup titled "Nanette". A prelim, maybe? At roughly 20" x 24" it's a bit smaller than most of his pieces, but it makes a good "starter" Armstrong for a modest collector like myself! For this piece, he uses a much more neutral palette than he usually does, but I think it's still a fine example of his work.
