Description

When the Teen Titans first debuted I expected it to be a very different title with very different art (think Anderson and Infantino). So it took me awhile to adjust to Nick Cardy's style, but after I did so, I was delighted with the results. When the chance came some four decades later to have Nick do a commission for me it was simply a question of which image.
With my fondness for Green Arrow, picking a cover with Speedy on it was the logical next step. Since he was not an original member I had two covers to choose from, issues four and issue 11.
Although issue four stirs more memories because of the cool design, Titans caught in Olympic rings, issue11 won out because of the great shading and pencil work Nick did on this cover.
Thanks to Spencer Beck for helping to make this dream come true.

Wonderful image by a great guy. I hadn't noticed it before. Yeah, Speedy may not have been an original member, but when I had Nick do mine Speedy had to be in it. Nick is one of the very, very best in the business.
