Description

This is it. One of the grails of my collection... maybe the most iconic page I have. Thanks to Matt McAllister I now posses one of the most remembered Superman pages of my youth!
I will quote Matt now: "Got more info about the splash from Mike Carlin who was editing the Superman titles at the time.The paper is called DuoShade... It has two sets of grey tones in the paper-- which are brought forward to black lines with two different watercolor-like washes. One is lines in one direction. The other brings out lines in the opposite direction... So you can get two levels of gray tones into the image. These splash pages were extra pages in the Direct Market edition of that book. In the newsstand version... All the Splash pages were ad pages".
