Mike Zeck is a noted comic book artist who has worked for Marvel Comics, doing fill-in work on "Master Of Kung Fu," and has since worked for both Marvel and DC Comics working on such titles as "Aquaman, Batman: Legends Of The Dark Knight, Green Lantern, Captain America, G.I. Joe, Lobo," and "Deathstroke, The Terminator." Zeck may be best known for his 1987 work on the "Kraven's Last Hunt" storyline in the Spider-Man comic books and the 1984 "Secret Wars" miniseries, where he and fellow artist Rick Leonardi designed Spider-Man's new black-and-white costume. Offered here is 11x17" Marvel Comics artboard featuring Zeck's pen and ink (w/screentone accents) original art for cover of "Captain America" #265, published Jan. 1982. This issue introduced Captain America villain Sultan and he is featured, along w/Captain America and Spider-Man, who are being restrained by Sultan's Biotron constructs. A subdued Nick Fury lays on the ground between them. Art has been inked by John Beatty. Art has Columbia bicycle offer and publisher's indicia paste-overs at top as well as "Captain America" title paste-over (which has been trimmed to fit around Sultan). Additional word balloon and text panel paste-overs, are in place. Artboard has some scattered margin aging w/glue staining by issue number paste-over and aging to screentone, but art o/w remains clean and Exc. We are offering this cover as well as all 21 story page in this auction, presenting a very rare opportunity to obtain the original art for this entire issue, featuring great kinetic art featuring Captain America and Spider-Man in just the second "Captain America" storyline to guest-star Spider-Man and their first meeting since "Amazing Spider-Man" #187. Art comes w/reading copy of the comic book this art was produced for.
