Description

SOLD JULY 2017 FOR $2,381!

10.75x16-4/8" thin artboard features artist Dick Dillin's pen and ink original art for page 4 of the March 1969 issue of "Justice League Of America" #70, published by DC Comics. Dillin is noted for his 12-year run as the penciler of "Justice League Of America," drawing 115 issues from 1968 until his death in 1980. Four panel page features Justice League meeting to discuss crime, w/Green Lantern, The Atom, Flash, Superman and Batman present. Of note, Batman mentions his first encounter w/"An Outlaw Who Calls Himself The Creeper!" The Creeper had made his first appearance a year earlier in "Showcase" #73 (March 1968). Batman appears in every panel w/other JLA members appearing in all but one panel. Of particular interest, The Atom is depicted in miniature form, seated in his tiny rocket-powered chair. Page has been inked by Sid Greene. Top margin has production notations w/handwritten title and issue/page number. Top/bottom margins each have pair of hole punches (which do not affect text/art). VF overall w/Exc. art.
