Description

SOLD AT AUCTION FOR $1,204!

14.5x20.5" Strathmore artboard has mixed media painting by Bill Wray, a cartoonist, animator and painter widely known for his contributions to "Mad, Cracked" and "The Ren & Stimpy Show." Art was for cover to "Super Cracked" Vol. 2 #2, published Summer 1988. Cover features pastiche of popular '80s pop culture characters and world personalities including Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev (each holding missile), Bruce Willis from "Die Hard," Dick Tracy, Tarzan, Sylvester P. Smythe in Superman parody, Sylvester Stallone, John Wayne and Roger Moore as James Bond against evil opponents including Darth Vader, Jason Voorhees, prisoners, an obese animal character, King Kong and a green, Blob-like monster. Wray has signed at lower left, below 1988 copyright. Artboard has overlay consisting of two boards w/faint printed "Cracked" art (taped together at center) attached w/tape at top. Artboard has some scattered dust soiling and lt. handling wear. VF overall.
