SOLD AT AUCTION FOR $9,086!

Pair of thin artboards w/India ink original art by Prince Valiant creator Hal Foster (1892-1982). Artboards measure 11.5x24" and 23x24" (24x34.75" combined) and comprise the complete Sunday page for Nov. 7, 1965. Bottom panel notes strip number 1500. Art features total of seven panels and takes place during Prince Valiant's son Prince Arn's expedition of The New World and shows intense battle between Native Americans and Viking "Northmen," who defend their timber fort w/the assistance of Arn and an Algonquin tribe. Arn is clearly seen in three panels, including large battle scene and final panel, where he squares off against a Native American warrior "Mad With Blood Lust." Foster has signed this panel at lower right. Second to last panel has KFS copyright strip. Each panel has Foster's standard text panels pasted in place. These have a few scattered areas of aging/glue staining. First panel has aged "Prince Valiant" title stat. Top corner margins and lower left margin have printer's registration labels (lower right corner margin has remnant of label, most of which is missing). Smaller artboard at top has been attached to larger artboard w/masking tape on back, which has had some cloth tape added as reinforcement. Cloth tape has also been added along bottom fold line edge for reinforcement. Pin holes at top corners. .75" tear at bottom center. Second panel has 1x1.5" H-shaped puncture w/tape repair on back. This issue is only really noticeable upon close inspection. Artboards have some scattered handling wear/aging, but art remains clean and VF overall.
