Description

SOLD AT AUCTION FOR $1,298!

10-7/8x16.25" artboard w/original art by Jan Duursema, a comics artist best known for her work on the Marvel and Dark Horse "Star Wars" comic book franchise. Art was inked by Tom Mandrake and is for page 25 of "Star Wars" #92, published by Marvel, Feb. 1985. This was Duursema's debut as a "Star Wars" comic artist. Page features six panels, showing Lando Calrissian waking Luke Skywalker aboard the Millennium Falcon, and the two join the rest of the crew, including Princess Leia, C-3PO, R2-D2 and Han Solo. Han announces they've reached their destination to which Leia complains why they didn't go to Denin's planet's fortified capital city. Chewbacca is seen in last panel, along w/Lando, Luke, Leia and Han. Exterior shot of the Millennium Falcon is featured in first panel. Top margin has handwritten "Star Wars" title and issue/page number in black felt tip pen. Top right and bottom corners have been clipped. Pinholes at top right corner and just left of bottom center margin. Art remain clean and Exc. Duursema "Star Wars" original art rarely comes up for sale, especially from her debut issue.
