DescriptionHere is a beautiful page 1 splash from Cybernary. Since artist Nick Manabat died, his family has all the Cybernary art and does not intend to sell, so I make do with whatever I can find. Watercolors by Joe Chiodo over copies of Nick's work. See below for added images such as a b&w copy of the line art used for the word box color, as well as the page as it was printed. You can see that the colors on the guide are solid while still allowing you to see detail and definition, but the published page just muddied it down and is almost too dark. This title, like Deathblow, would have been better in b&w instead of color. But another great page by Nick and the b&w copy without colors let's you see his inks, which are incredible. Man I wish I could get some actual original art from Cybernary, but I don't think it will ever happen unless Nick's family decide to part.Social/Sharing |
