But for what book? Looks like maybe delrey from markings on the back but occasionally a cover will be rejected so any book with ese types of characters in it might be a good choice. I had a cover from the Doona series that seems to never have been used but illustrated the opening scene from the novel.

Wonderful cover. I tried to find what book it's for on isfdb but Herring has so many covers I gave up. I wasn't familar with his name but loved many of the books he did covers for. Thanks for making me aware of him.

He wa prolific and really good - did hundreds of covers for sci-fi, romance and thins like the executioner novels and then sold off al lthe art and moved back to I think Australia
