DescriptionTex has a bit of a derpy look to his work (although not so much in this one), but I gotta admit that I love his exaggerated art style. At the same time, Marvel Knights assembles many of my favorite characters in one spot. When this came up, I was super excited at the chance to add it to my collection. As always, thank you for checking out my gallery! Social/Sharing |

The first CAF post of the New Year! At least the first I have seen. And it's a really cool cover! I love all the flames. A bit odd to have Dagger with the more gritty street vigilantes DD, Widow and Punisher, but since I'm a big Dagger fan, I heartily approve. Maybe she is their guiding light. (Bonus: I have learned a new word for the year as well ... "derpy." Kind of a funny word.) Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My friend owned this for many years and not for a single second did I ever have the word "derpy" come to mind when looking at it. Happy New Year!

Yo, I don't think we should talk about this
(Come on, why not?)
People might misunderstand what he's stylin' to say, you know?
(No, but that's the art of life)
Come on
Let's talk about Tex, baby
Let's talk about Duke and Fleed
Let's talk about all the Groo things
And the rad inks of Jimmy
Let's talk about Tex
Let's talk about Tex
Let's talk about Tex
Let's talk about Tex
Let's talk about Tex, say wow
To the Marvel you've shown for all the crowd
It keeps coming up anyhow
Don't be coy, avoid, or make void the comics
Cause that ain't gonna stop it
Now we talk about Tex in the Daredevil portfolio shows
Punisher knows, anything goes
Let's tell it like it is, and Cloak it could free
Now Widow, and of course, Dagger should be
Those who think paint's dirty have a choice
Pick up the Marvel, press pause, or turn the Daredevil off
Will that stop us, reps? I doubt it
All Knights then, come all in

Nice composition with the 4 MK characters in different scale. Also dig that lighting effect brought on by Tex's unique color work and textures...no doubt this is him right when you see it! Sweet 2000 piece to open up '25! Congrats, DF!

I agree with you--Marvel Knights was fantastic! I loved the whole idea of a sub-brand that incorporated so many of my favorite characters! This cover by Mark Texteira is a great reminder of that fantastic era. Seeing all these Marvel Knights on one cover is totally badass! I espcially love the image of Daredevil with his sonic radar-like sense radiating out. And the Black Widow looks totally badass here. I don't know that I would call Mark's work "derpy" but I do know what you mean. There's a unique look to Texteira's work that makes it very distinctive. And I like it. Great pick-up, congrats!

Read your for sale description. 'I kin read real good, like.' Does Hell have a kitchen? What do they cook? Souls? Flesh? A combo?

I would have to say his ladies are more perky than derpy.

Beautiful painting ! I remember the sheer excitement of the Knights line. Just curious - what was Jimmy Palmiotti's role in the creation of this piece?
