Description

Casein on acetate, measuring 19" x 24". This is the final preliminary prepared by Frank McCarthy. There are two notes in pencil, an "X" by the jetpack and "more" with an arrow pointing to the background. The design of the jetpack was changed and the background extended in the definitive illustration. Astounding quality for a preliminary work!

Spectacular! Why acetate? Seems like an unusual medium to be painting on.

It's very light weight, especially compared to board. Also fairly durable. Would have made for much easier transport.
