DescriptionAbsolutely stunning painted Valérian & Laureline cover, for the 1976 edition (and used henceforth all around the world) of the first book "La Cité des eaux mouvantes"/"The City of Shifting Waters" (prepublished in 1968 in the french periodical Pilote and finally as a book in 1970), by the great late Jean-Claude Mézières. Valérian & Laureline is probably my favorite science fiction series and one that I read as an adolescent, so adding this amazing cover (37,5cm x 49cm) to my collection really means a lot to me!Social/Sharing |

Congratulations. Living in Manhattan and as a fan of this series, I had seriously considered making a hard run at it at auction, but backed off the day of. Its a treasure and I hope you give it a place of prominence!

I have always considered these early episodes to be the absolute peak of the series! The stories were sparkling with ideas and the artwork was so incredibly dynamic! Congrats for this major piece of comic history, I can only imagine how the vibrant colors shine when seen in person...

Bravo, despite my perfect knowledge of Mézières's work, when I consigned this cover for the auction I was immediately impressed by its composition, mastery of line and color. One of JC's finest works in the run of Valerian and Laureline's adventures! A gem!!!
