DescriptionAbsolutely incredible painted Valérian & Laureline cover, by the incomparable Jean-Claude Mézières, for issue 492 of Pilote magazine (April 1969), which marked the beginning of the 3rd Valerian & Laureline adventure (or rather 2nd part of the 2nd adventure) „Terre en Flammes“. The story later formed, together with the name-giving 1968 story „La Cité des eaux mouvantes“, the very first Valerian & Laureline album (1970).This is actually the 2nd ever Valerian & Laureline cover and the very first to feature out two heroes so prominently…just gorgeous!!! Beautiful colors with the volcanic explosion of lava and rivers of pure heat! I like they holding hands in this while running away showing the bond of their relationship.
