At Paris Manga, this spring, Alex Maleev and Esad ribic were the 2 big names.
Alex Maleev is a star artist, everyone knows his name and his style.
He may have seemed a bit cold at first, but as the day advanced,and he saw the gaping faces of the people who flipped through his portfolio, or watched him draw and paint, he smiled more, talked more openly, and I think he really enjoyed being there and sharing.
He delivered a lot of amazing pieces and we were a lot at his table, to simply enjoy watching him work with his very distinctive style.
I had asked for a black and white Iron Fist for budgetary reasons, and I hadn't seen him do it the whole day. Actually, I had only seen him do watercolor pieces (mostly Daredevil and Elektra). So I was very surprised when he handed me this beautifully colored Iron Fist and said to me that since he had only done watercolor that day, he didn't want me to feel sad with the only piece in black and white.
People, take note, Alex Maleev is a star, a great artist, a nice guy, and a class act.

Amazing piece and a great story to go with it. I love Maleev's art, and I love Iron Fist. Awesome combo. Congrats!
