DescriptionI've of course wanted a Whelan painting for a long time, but the covers are out of my price range, and a lot of other stuff that pops up are really small. Michael posted this from his "Leftovers and Palette Gremlins" series at a sweet spot for size (11x14) and price and I jumped on it immediately. Not planned, but great surprise opportunity. Michael also sent a signed artbook and other goodies!Per Michael - "What I saw in the accidental marks that inspired this piece was independent of color, more an idea that could be realized using almost any color scheme. I grabbed the closest paint at hand, which happened to be a palette of purplish acrylics leftover from RHYTHM OF WAR." Social/Sharing |

Very beautiful with sunset colors and the storm cover approaching bringing a unique purple look to the atmosphere that only happens for a short period of time under the right circumstances. Just as unique as the rock formation in the center of this painting. It is delicately handled throughout!
