DescriptionI’d been looking to get a Transformers #1 cover from the new Skybound DWJ release and despite there being quite a few variants, I missed out on all of them… or so I thought. This one was posted months after the first few books were out and as soon as I saw it I grabbed it. It’s the NYCC variant by the super talented Hector Trunnec. I first became aware of Hectors work when my buddy Seamus posted a heavy metal cover he’d done and it just blew me away. I’m super thrilled to own this masterpiece! Thanks Artist’s Bullpen!Social/Sharing |

I saw this on the Artist Bullpen website. Was really interested in this page but couldn't pull the trigger. Glad it went to a true collector!

Great painting! I has the original toy's look and could very well fit into the toy line's painted artwrok!

Quintessential Optimus image expertly executed. The skill that went into making this with watercolor is More Than Meets The Eye!

Wow! Precise technial linework mixed with the more organic watercolors...sublime stuff! Hearkens back to the OG Optimus design but still super fresh and contemporary. I gotta look into a Trunnec piece myself! Congrats!

Phenomenal Transformers cover! I love this painting by Hector Trunnec, it has a real strong sense of action and movement. Hector has a great feel for how a giant robot might move and he shows it in this image of Optimus Prime running and preparing to shoot. I love Hector's simple color choices. The blues and whites of the background really make the robot pop off the page. Great pick-up, congrats!
