DescriptionJust looking through stuff at the weekend and I found this Polaroid, yep I know, so I took a photo of it. I used to own this original page from the Dark Horse Alien story he did in the early 90s. I asked him to sign it, which he did... in a big fat red marker!Social/Sharing |

David, I know that I shouldn't laugh but reading that last part of your message I just had to ! I can picture Bisley now giggling to himself whilst signing it ! It reminds me of all the 'fun' times at UK cons over the years when it wasn't quite as serious as it seems now.

Yeah, you can tell by the look on his face, he's thinking 'How can I @@ck this up!?' The pen did go over the bottom of the last panel. Wish I had a better picture of it

Look on the bright side, he was actually sat there and signing plus if he managed to sign it , it meant he was sober(ish) !

did you ever find out why there is both a painted grayscale and panted colour version of the same strip (and pencils)?both equally fantastic I should say.

I didn't, no. It is very strange indeed. The original grey scale painted version was done on different sized paper for some reason, I've seen two other pages, both smaller than this one. I think the coloured ones are painted over photocopies, I have one of those and it's a beauty, I love it even though I know there's no pencils underneath. Maybe Dark Horse requested a colour version to be painted due to the outcry of how it was originally badly tinted in the collection? It's a mystery

really intresting to compare the both, its a pity the coloured was never published.
it would be nice to see an artist adition of selected works near actual size.

Oh, yeah, it certainly would be fantastic to see an artists edition of Biz work. I've mentioned it before to Scott Dunbier, there are hi-res scans of all his Slaine pages, I would certainly buy one

really, is ther high res scans? 2000ad reprints of the horned god are still using a scan from the first graphic novel as the transparencies must be lost over the years.
I would especially like to see abc warriors pages in high res gray scale, there arre some around here but most are poor photographs.

Yep, I'd love to see ABC full size too. That's two artist editions I would buy straightaway. The hi res Slaine used to be online, but the site is no longer there :(
