Description

This piece is the ultimate tribute to the live action actors who played the D.C. superheroes during my youth - Christopher Reeve�s Superman, Lynda Carter�s Wonder Woman, George Reeves� Superman, Jackson Bostwick�s Captain Marvel, Adam West�s Batman, Burt Ward�s Robin, Yvonne Craig�s Batgirl, and Joanna Cameron� Isis. I watched the Superman (1950s) and the Batman (1960s) television shows in reruns in the 1970s.

John Watson continues to be an exceptional artist to work with and he again delivered my vision of combining the 1950-1970s versions of the amazing D.C. television/movie characters with a nod to the comic book version of Mr. Mxyzptlk combined with the Hall of Justice from the Super Friends cartoon. The premise for the artwork story was that Mxyzptlk created a crossover (similar to Crisis on Infinite Earths) where he brings together various live action D.C. universe heroes together, creates conflict, and a battle ensues! Mxyzplik was always a character that drove Superman nuts in the comics and I am excited to feature him as the villain is this amazing painting!

Of note, it was Watson�s idea to give Isis her comic book version powers to blast away at Batgirl. It worked out perfectly!

Thank you to John Watson for bringing together my ideas, adding superb details and for taking the time to capture the essence of the superhero actors that served as the foundation of my love of superhero comics!
