DescriptionThrilled to have an original piece of Golden Age artwork featuring THE GHOST and the villain, THE CLAW from Daredevil Comics #10 p.4 (Lev Gleason, 1942). I have this right next to the GA page I own featuring Daredevil. This was illustrated Bob Wood who gave the page to famed DC artist (and friend) Jerry Robinson with the following inscription to him in the third panel, reminding him to "lay off the daily double" at the Jamaica Race Track in Queens, New York (it closed in 1959). Nobody knows who who added the watercolors, but they certainly did a great job on this incredibly rare page.Social/Sharing |

The first and last panels are wonderful. My father had a big nostalgic place in his heart for Daredevil and the Claw and even though I was only ever to find and read a handful of stories when he was alive, I sort of came to be a fan of the Lev Gleason characters through a kind of comic book osmosis. (And, yes, the colorist/painter, did a wonderful job.)

Thank you Tim - I fell in love with these characters in the mid-1970s when I found and read "All in Color for a Dime" -- I never knew any of them and am thrilled now to be owning GA pages -- I try to buy GA pages whenever I see them

Just....Spectacular. In every possible way, this is a Museum piece.
