Description

This may be the earliest jungle girl genre page in existence - it is the 24th page of Sheena by Mort Meskin who signed the page.

Sheena debuted in "Wags, Pages for all Ages" #46 (Joshua Powers/Editors Press Jan. 14, 1938) with art by Will Eisner and Bob Powell. Mort Meskin took over the art duties not long after. Wags, which started in 1936, was an early comic created by Eisner and Iger and sold in the UK and later sold in Australia in New Zealand.

Starting with page 11 from Wags, the Sheena strips were reprinted in Jumbo Comics, beginning in Jumbo Comics. This page is a Wags page which was reprinted in Jumbo Comics #4 (Fiction House 1938) with art by Mort Meskin.
